A 60 minute pregnancy massage or a 90 minute pregnancy massage that includes a detailed consultation with me. I will tailor an aromatherapy blend to soothe your body, mind & spirit. This blend will be used to during your massage. The massage may be full body, or it may just pay special focus to any areas of discomfort (achy back or hips). At the end of each session I will guide you on comfortable sleeping positions as well as give gentle stretches to ease tension, and simple exercises to keep your body feeling great throughout the pregnancy!

Recommendation: |
I generally recommend getting a Prenatal massage at least once every 3-4 weeks to keep up with all the Transitions until 32 weeks. Following 32 weeks I recommend coming at least once every 2 weeks if not once a week to keep up with drastic changes that your body is undergoing at this stage in your pregnancy & to get your body ready for labor.

Benefits:
1. Enhances the health of you and your baby
Massage treatments have been proven to benefit all of your body's systems including muscular, circulatory, digestive and hormonal. Improved circulation brings more oxygen and nutrients to the cells in your body and also that of your baby - nourishing the both of you.
2. Eases pregnancy discomforts
Massage can soothe back and shoulder pain, pubic discomfort, sciatica, cramps, sore hips and aching legs.
3. Reduces swelling
Eases edema in the legs, feet, hands and wrists. Soothes the discomfort of varicose veins and achy joints. Reduction in swelling, fluid retention and waste products also helps to improve your energy levels, making you feel less fatigued.
4. Increased relaxation and decreased stress levels
Pregnancy is a time of great change and this, along with fluctuating hormones and broken sleep can sometimes cause stress levels to rise. This is ok as long as the stress is also balanced with time to relax and be nurtured. Regular massage give you the space to deeply relax and rejuvenate and the time to enjoy your pregnancy and transition into motherhood. Relaxed mama = happy baby!
5. Improves sleep and reduces depression
With an enhanced ability to deeply relax you may also notice that your sleep improves. During your “transition” session we can also teach you the most comfortable and supportive sleeping positions during pregnancy. Massage has also been documented to reduce the symptoms of depression in pregnant and post-natal women.
6. Prepares you for labor and birth
Approaching your baby's birth day, massage treatments will improve your flexibility and energy levels as well as helping you to develop mind/body awareness. This means that you become aware of where you are holding tension within your body and are able to consciously release it. A essential skill in the birthing room. A recent study also showed that massage from 36 weeks onward helped to increase the mothers levels of oxytocin (the mothering hormone) resulting in labors that were quicker with fewer complications both before and after birth.

During Your Session...
A Support system of ultimate comfort will be used during your prenatal session with me. It's called the bodyCushion. The bodyCushion will alleviate pressure on the neck, breasts, and lower back. During the massage, you will be able to lie safely and comfortably on your belly at any stage of your pregnancy (the cushions cradle your body, giving no stress to any already over stretched ligaments) as well as on your back, and sides with no uncomfortable pressure on your sore hips. A good prenatal massage can ease many of the discomforts that are often the side effects of pregnancy. The secret is... a skilled Pregnancy Massage Specialist can go right to the root of the pain and discomfort, and relieve it. With regularly scheduled massage treatments, most of the pain and discomfort can be eliminated completely. I also give helpful tips and advice during every stage in your pregnancy to keep you feeling great, and to help you prepare your body for labor.
**Rather than getting a pregnancy or postpartum massage from someone who is a jack of all trades (who only sees a pregnant or postpartum mother every month or two), experience a massage from an expert who is skilled in the massage YOU need. A massage designed especially for the Mama-to-be and for New Mamas!**
